Amazon.com: The Sesame Street character has fun singing some catchy new songs (you and your toddler just might, too), explaining the difference between light and heavy, having a laugh over pictures and numbers, and sharing the screen with a good-natured Whoopi Goldberg and Julia Roberts. Of the various Elmo videos, this one really does have the choicest material and stands up to repeat viewings--a big plus with little ones. --Tom Keogh

- Cute video: Its a cute video with Elmo songs and dances. I gave it a 4 star because it was pricey for only 35 minutes, and it could have been longer and it could have included other, even better songs. But, overall, our daughter really enjoys it.
- best of elmo: my 19 month old loves elmo and this elmo story is great. all the stories are tied together with the theme of which picture elmo should enter in the monster art contest. the songs are cute. there were two parts that my 19 month old found too intense and I just skippped through them. They were of Julia Roberts showing this is what being afraid looks like and the other was telly showing heavy vs. elmo showing light. It appeared that telly was being hurt. but all in all, I'd say buy this oneif your little one likes elmo. I find myself singing elmo's song while doing chores. It's catchy. The baby likes it because of all the la la las instead of words.
- Really the Best!: This is the first Elmo DVD we purchased for our 15 month old son and he LOVES it! We have gotten a few others since, but he still likes this one the BEST!
- Perfect Kids' Video: Even the story connectors between the actual Sesame Street video clips are well done. The songs are great. Both of my kids love this video.
- I'm shocked that some people don't love this!: I bought this for my grandson several years ago and before I knew it we were watching it several times a day and I was singing the songs in the car - by myself. While the voices can be somewhat harsh, the lessons are gentle. He loves Elmo and I do feel he has been exposed to a lot through this video. Education is not just about the three "R's". In this DVD he learned about body parts, tap dancing, counting - many things that have helped make him a well-rounded boy of five years old.
I think that we tend to forget that kids can have strong opinions, just like adults. Those opinions can change with time. Some kids will love this video, some will not. I recommend you give it a try - and if they don't like it, try it again at a later date. My grandson HATED Veggie Tales the first time he saw them, now he laughs hysterically at anything they say.
I'm also suprised about complaints on sound or video quality. Ours is fine. Thank goodness for the Sesame Street folks - they are one of the few companies I can put on and trust enough to walk out of the room when kids are watching.
