Customer Reviews:

  • Great pair of headphones!: I absolutely LOVE these headphones! I am a daily iPod user...both for workouts and at the office to tune out all of the noise of cube-land... I received a pair of BOSE in-ear headphones for Christmas, but lately just don't like things IN my ears for too long... I wanted a pair of BOSE on-ear headphones, but really couldn't afford them... I started reading the reviews and thought I would try these... the sound (compared to my BOSE in-ear) is incredible...SOOOO much better than the BOSE... I can't speak for the BOSE on-ear, but these are SO much better than the BOSE in-ear ones I have...Without any break-in time, I have been listening to my iPod constantly...I can hear separations in my favorite songs that I could never discern before. I would highly recommend these headphones to anyone!
  • Top notch headphones: Excellent product worth the money. I OWN A SET MYSELF AND BOUGHT THIS SET FOR MY SON. He loves them.
  • Great travel phones: These were recommended to me, and I've had them for over a year now. They aren't top-of-the-line audiophile phones, but for the money and small space in which I can pack them (about the size of a small sandwich), they give me plenty of good sound at a high enough volume level to overcome the high ambient noise of an airplane, even on quiet movies and such. They have become one of the items my well-used travel backpack won't be caught without.

Hint: If you're listening to these while connected to iTunes, bumping up the EQ on the 250-1000 Hz bands really makes these phones come alive. Nice depth of sound. Not very bassy, but plenty of mid-high end, and enough clarity that you can almost feel bells and xylophones and the gentle friction of a bow across a violin.
  • Pleasing sound, good hard case, nice wire, nice jack: I'm very pleased with my PX-100s. They sound great for my ecclectic mix of music, from rock to classical. Nice mids. I intentionally got these over, say, the PX-200's because I didn't want to be 100pct disconnected from what's going on around me. When I want that, I can use my Sony MD-7506's.

I can't get them in their hard case instantly, it does take a little time. But the hard case is great because I can just thrown them in my go bag and don't worry about damage.

    They're very comfortable.

I like that the jack is straight rather than having a 90-degree bend in it. No complaints about the strength of the wire. It's nice and light.

I'm very happy with my PX-100's.
  • Great for my budget and purpose: First off, don't be fooled by those reviewing these headphones saying that they are just as good as the high dollar audiophile headphones. That is absolutely not true at all. They sound really good, but not THAT good.

That said, they are great sounding headphones. For this price range, they are one of the best. Koss Portapros probably sound slightly better, but they are not as compact as these. They offer great sound, even response, and portability. I especially like using these at home in the evenings. Their open design allows me to hear things around me (like the crying baby or my chatty husband) while still being able to have my music in the background.

I also use these at work and the sound quality is good enough, considering I'm not always paying enough attention to the music for all of the detail anyway. For improved sound over stock phones that come with portable players, look no further. For improved sound on a budget, look no further.
