- Submerged in lake, and still working! : I normally don't write product reviews but these Motorola radios deserve a 5-Star rating. I have owned this product 6 months and it performs as promised in terms of its distance rating and features. HOWEVER, this event speaks volumes about these radios: to fish out a runaway canoe, I jumped into the lake with this radio in my pocket. It was fully submerged in a Maine lake for 1 - 2 minutes, with water INSIDE the radio display looking like the water-and-bubble in a carpenter's level. The radio wouldn't transmit or receive at first, and I thought I would have to replace it. But after shaking the water out, throwing it in the bottom of the canoe, then drying it out overnight it now works PERFECTLY! It's as good as new. Can other radios do this? I would never buy anything but Motorola!
