• Horrible Remote Sits Abandoned By My Family: The battery contacts for the recharging mount work for this remote only after continually repositioning the thing in the cradle; breathing on it breaks the contacts again. Barely recharges as a result, very frustrating. The buttons are not well situated and hard for the hand to find; as a result, I found myself often looking down at the remote, back at the tv, pressing the wrong button, going back to the remote, and so on.
  
  Worse yet, I found that the remote often failed to send commands to the tv/cable box, etc, so that the tv was not responding to the commands. You can adjust this by adjusting the timing of the infrared signals, but I never got it working well after repeated half hour sessions of trying to adjust it.
  
  In theory, this could be a great universal remote. Programming it on the computer was pretty good (the interface could be improved, but is still servicable); I set it up so I could choose to watch movies, and it would control my speaker volume, set my balance, change the tv to the right input for the dvd player, etc. In practice it didn't work so well.
  
  Now the remote sits in a bin. It was too complicated fo rmy kids to use, and since it never recharges properly, I wish I had never bought it.
• My second 880 from Amazon: Love the 880 remote. Perfect solution for the never ending pile of remotes. Now I have just one in each room.
  
  Will buy a 3rd, when the price comes down a little more.
  
  $99 is too much for the bedroom tv setup.
  
• Great product: My remote control collection to run my home entertainment system grew to 5, at which point it became a hassle to use. It was an especially big hassle when guests came over and wanted to change the channel or change from TV to DVD, etc.
  
  This product fixed that. The only negative I found with it is it won't turn my Nintendo Wii on/off. Setup was a snap and took ~15 minutes. The only thing necessary was to plug a USB cable into my computer, open the software, punch in the model #s of the components, tell it what was plugged where and that was it.
• Great product: I've owned the Harmony 659 and this is light years ahead of that product. Most all of my problems with 659 have been addressed here.
  
  The design of the product is is very sleek and much more aesthetically pleasing. There is no longer a problem with going through packs of AAA batteries with the rechargeable battery and cradle. The ability to have more than 6 actions on one page makes using devices more convenient. The color screen makes viewing much easier on the eyes. Also, the coolest feature has to be the tilt sensor which automatically turns on the backlight which makes finding your button in the dark a snap.
  
  My only complaint is the layout of the buttons. The mute and previous channel buttons are hard to find and even harder to get used to. The numbered buttons are so close together that I often hit the number above or below on accident and as a result am often taken to the wrong channel. The same goes for the DVR/DVD buttons as I often want to hit rewind and find myself jumping back a chapter. Also, with the remote being so large it is often not possible to turn on a device and use its various buttons without readjusting your grip.
  
  Overall, an excellent product and a purchase that I am very happy with.
• Great Item: Great Item. Works very well and I have no issues with the charger base. I am upgrading from a older Harmony remote and this one takes a little getting used to with the button placement. It would be nice if the buttons were laid out in a more intuitive fashion and were easier to press. Other than that, great product!
