Product Description: Slip on a pair of QuietComfort 2 headphones and hear your music come alive. Decades of Bose research combine with our Acoustic Noise Cancelling headphone technology for outstanding audio performance. This award-winning technology electronically identifies and dramatically reduces noise while faithfully preserving the music, movie dialogue or tranquility you desire. The TriPort acoustic headphone structure also delivers our best headphone audio performance in a compact and lightweight design. Listening to your favorite music, you may even forget you have them on. QuietComfort headphones were specifically designed for airline travel, but owners soon told us how much they enjoy using them to listen to music in other places: on buses and trains, in the office, even at home. We enhanced the convenience and portability features of QC2 headphones, making them even easier to enjoy in a variety of environments, without disturbing others. Whether you take them on a trip or to the office, today's QC2 headphones fold flat and store easily in their slim carrying case. To fade background distractions and enjoy peace and tranquility, simply turn the headphones on. To add Bose quality sound, attach the included audio cord and connect the headphones to a portable MP3, CD or DVD player, laptop computer, in-flight audio system or home stereo. The latest generation of Bose QC2 headphones provides even better audio performance with greater clarity of high-frequency sounds. We've also refreshed the color with silver and chrome accents. Experience a pair of QC2 headphones for yourself. We think you'll be delighted by the way they diminish noise, provide audio that's clear, full and detailed, and by how comfortably they fit.

Customer Reviews:

  • If you fly a lot, get these headphones!I : Got these headphones because I fly a lot. They sound great and do a good job of noise reduction.

This has made long flights much more comfortable for me. There is something about having this kind of sound quality which makes it a lot easier to deal with the small space. Plus, I no longer have to deal with the guy next to me, who won't be quiet and wants to shout for 4-hours. ;)

These headphones have enabled me to get a lot more work done on planes. I like music, but also a lot of audio books. Makes the time seem much faster.

Worth the price. I've head less-expensive headphones, including many of those mentioned here, and they definitely do not work as well in an environment such as an airplane. Spend the money and do it right!!
  • bose headphones: These headphones are top of the line. I love them. You can not get much better then these.
  • Great sound, comfort and customer service: I am on my second pair of the QC2. The first had some problems after five plus years of use and abuse on countless domestic and international flights. Bose replaced the first set for $50 with a simple phone call. (the option was given to buy a new pair of QC3 for $100 as well. Had a new pair in less than a week of my sending mine off.

    Some specifics-

Noise canceling qualities- excellent. NOTE-if you have never had a pair of noise canceling headphones they are NOT NOISE ELIMINATING. They reduce sounds in certain frequencies but do not eliminate all external sound. They are wonderful on an airplane. After a long flight on a DC9 stuck next to the engine you will be singing their praises too. On really long flights (trans pacific length) I notice a huge difference in fatigue not to mention the ability to sleep.

Sound quality- superb. Great set of listening headphones.

Fit and finish- NO complaints on the finish. The problems I had were with a short and then a mechanical problem. Fit is highly personal. You really need to try on any set before buying. The QC3 does not work for me at all. Many of the less expensive alternatives don't either and this is largely a fit issue rather than a technology issue.

    Service- Already covered.

    Complaints I see and here.
    They are expensive.--Yes they are.
    They make a hissing/pulsing noise when using them in a quiet area.--I wouldn't know. I don't use them in a quiet environment.WHY?
They break- trust me- If it took me five years to break them then they are well built. I don't buy things for showcase- I use em.

Summary- If you have the money and are looking in this price range then I highly recommend. No question they are expensive. You expect quality and service for this price and Bose does deliver.
  • Bose Noise reducing head set: The sound is incredible on my ipod it has very good bass compared to the ear buds that come with the ipod. It reduces noise in almost all situations. the only problem is if you turn it up maximum volume (extra loud probably not a good idea for your ear drums)you do get a little distortion and it makes your ears sweat when it is warm. The sound makes up for all it's weakness. I would buy them all over again even though they are a little pricey.
  • No stars: Total waste of money. A recent house guest had a pair and I tried them out. My wife has a pair of noise cancelling phones made by Phillips that sounded every bit as good and cost $60. Bose is all hype. You can find equal and better quality for a fraction of the price.
