Customer Reviews:
- Feat and Friends at Play!: Talk about a party. Forty year rock and funk veterans Little Feat had a party with some of rock and country's best and they recorded it for the rest of us to listen to.
All of it is good. Some was just plain mind-blowing. Far as I'm concerned, Dave Matthews can come back and sing Lowell George any old time. His earthy growl on "Fat Man in the Bathtub" literally had me repeating the song several times.
Bob Seger wasn't too bad in "Something in the Water." The group really did a great job of picking their side-players. And yes, Seger really can still rock and roll us.
Vince Gill surprised me on "Dixie Chicken." Okay, I admit, I like Lowell George and I still miss him after all these years. But, he did a respectable cover. His clear tenor is a fascinating contrast to Matthews' deeper voice.
Loved hearing Bela Fleck on "The Weight," too. I actually forgot the Feat covered this song.
"Sailing Shoes" with Emmylou Harris was interesting. The chorus on this one, with Harris, Sam Bush and Bela Fleck with the band is pretty mind blowing.
This is one you at least need to sample if you like the Feat or any of the side-players. I'd strongly recommend it if you're a fan of the Feat.
